I created my first website 10 years ago; a lot has changed… Back then the design elements where mainly carried by images accompanied by the occasional odd font. Coding was much easier. Create a table, place the pictures, done and dusted!

Time has passed and we survived a lot; blinking gifs, flashing movies and websites which try to kill you by deafening sound…

The focus is back where it belonged ever since the markup pioneers created the first websites: to present information and ideas in the best possible way and not with everything that is possible.

CSS has become a crucial design tool and is nowadays as important as Photoshop for creating great designs. Coding has become more challenging for sure but also created unlimited possibilities.

The new spirit is: less is more, but simple designs have always been the bigger challenge…
